Tammy Kong - Professional Make-up Artistry Diploma Program Honors Graduate: For several years now Tammy has worked as a senior visual merchandiser for a big box retail company. Tammy always had an interest in make-up and when the opportunity came knocking she answered, She realized fashion and make-up go hand in hand and knew it would improve her work in visual merchandising.
After many hours of research, and numerous visits to almost all the schools in Vancouver Tammy decided on New Image, She found the make-up program at New Image instantly amazing as right away she got to experience hands work on a actual horror film, that was when she knew she made the right decision. Her instructors Ryan Nicholson and Michelle Grady always said in class that they are there to help bring out the creative side of each and every student, The creative side that many students including Tammy didn't even know they had. Tammy really didn't understand what creative side they were talking about until she worked on the movie STAR VEHICLE.
"Thats when I knew how much I enjoyed having fun and learning about the industry and about myself. I realized that I liked making things scary and gory and not so much pretty......LOL it's totally the opposite of being a visual merchandiser."
The program also gave Tammy many other opportunities for actual work including a show case for Des Larson, John Tench's short films "Zombie Relic Hunters" and "Dead Vampires", Amir Aghelnejad's 72 hour film festival movie "Brain Storm", Eugene Lipinski's play "Aladin", as well as photoshoots "Lady Gaga Fashion Show" designer Nancy Black and "Vancouver Vixen Michelle Gunn" photo shoot (thanks to Kylie Taylor)

Tammy has also used the skills she learned at New Image on out of school ventures including an independent movie called "MINDEATERS" (which she is not allowed to talk about) but can say she is having alot of fun doing it.
Now Tammy is going to attempt to take her new skills and aquire a job abroad, She says it will be great to be able work and travel since she really hasn't had a chance to travel yet.
Most of all she would like to thank all the staff for always helping when I need it, and making New Image a great and fun place to learn.
She would also like to give a huge thank you to all her instructors and class mates for giving her a chance to work on their projects, Most of all she wants to thank Charie and John for making it so much fun and enjoyable coming to their school.

"THANKS I HAD A BLAST"
