A Director | An Instructor | An Actor | A Writer | A Visionary

New Image College of Fine Arts has acquired many of the top instructors in the business here at the college with one goal in mind: To provide our students with the best possible education, experience and career opportunities. Our instructors who come from all aspects of the industry hail from all across North America. In order for students to have the right foot forward in this non-forgiving line of work, our instructors provide years of real life experience and practical knowledge. To lead this ensemble cast of film, television and theatre veterans, Philip Granger has lead this school's acting department to new heights.

Phil’s expertise as a teacher, director, and actor began with his training. Over the course of ten years he trained with Stella Adler To the Actor, Robert Lewis Method or Madness, George Shadanoff (member of the Moscow Arts Theatre and co-founder of the brilliant Chekov Players, and Brian Reese (famed Los Angeles Acting Coach). Following his extensive training he co-founded The Naked Stage at the Cassandra Gaylor Theatre, producing original works, one of which was The Final which later became a feature film starring Dennis Leary. This was just one of many successful plays nurtured by Phil Granger and playwright Bruce McKintosh. In The Final he was awarded the Hollywood Drama Logue Award for best director, and then went on to win the Hollywood Drama Logue Award for best actor in the play Wormwood. Phil next went on to win the highly acclaimed Los Angeles Theatre Alliance Award for best new director with the play San Antonio Sunset.

In film and television Phil has appeared in over one hundred projects as either a lead or guest star, and has played a regular or recurring character on four different television series, one of which earned him the coveted Gemini Award for best guest performance on a television series.

His most recent credits include Walter Hill’s Broken Trail with Robert Duvall, Steven Spielberg’s Taken, and the critically acclaimed Canadian films Flower and Garnet and The Paper Moon Affair, for which he was nominated for a Leo for best supporting actor in a feature film. Phil Granger was recognized by the Governor General of Canada for his contribution to the arts. Over the past year, he has played the recurring roll of Tanner Willow on the hit series "Caprica" and is currently shooting a pilot for up and coming "Facing Kate".

Next month, in January 2010, Phil's latest role in Eli Craig's (Sally Field's Son) directorial debut "Tucker & Dale VS. Evil features him in a supporting role as a small-town sheriff. See the trailer here: Tucker & Dale VS. Evil Trailer
