PROJECT SYNOPSIS

‘Girls vs the City’ is a hilarious new web series following comedians Brynn & Brianna as they try to make it (or at least get a date) in a less than forgiving city. Check out the first season here: https://www.youtube.com/user/GirlonGirlHumor

Additional Comments:

Girl on Girl Humor is dedicated to showcasing Vancouver (and Canada’s) diverse artists.  Actors of all backgrounds, race, orientation, and personal beliefs are welcome and encouraged to apply.

** As a general note, please keep in mind that these Character descriptions are to be treated more like guidelines than requirements.  Colourful characters are what make ‘Girls vs. The City’ funny, and we care about what makes YOU interesting and uniquely hilarious more than we care about you perfecting a character description.   We encourage you to surprise us!  We occasionally even love to be proven wrong when it comes to the way we see a character played (but if you’re WAY off, we’ll tell you – it’s our show, we can do that).  We can’t wait to see your auditions! **

Love,

Brynn and Brianna

Melanie
AGE

15-18

GENDER

Female

DESCRIPTION

(Open to any ethnicity) ’The girl Brianna babysits’.  An only child of the ‘social media generation’, she is used to getting what she wants.  She is 15, owns her own business, and definitely doesn’t need a babysitter.  She ‘tolerates’ Brianna and Brynn, despite having no respect for them or their complete lack of life skills.  ***THIS CHARACTER MUST SUBMIT SELF TAPE AUDITION BY NOV 19TH ***

Alexa
AGE

15-18

GENDER

Female

DESCRIPTION

(Open to any ethnicity) Part of Melanie’s squad, Alexa also owns her own business as a Brand Ambassador.  She is self-assured, but unlike Melanie, maintains an element of childlike naivety and sweetness towards Brynn and Brianna. ***THIS CHARACTER MUST SUBMIT SELF TAPE AUDITION BY NOV 19TH ***

Nina
AGE

25-35

GENDER

Female

DESCRIPTION

(Open to any ethnicity) Nina is one of the girl’s new housemate’s.  Quiet but quirky – an oddball – she is very much in her own world.  When push comes to shove though, she doesn’t put up with any crap and she’ll make her voice heard.

Roland
AGE

28-35

GENDER

Male

DESCRIPTION

(Fit, handsome, open to any ethnicity) A running club leader, he’s all about fitness and heart rate.  He’s got a great attitude and an awesome new meal plan – kind of offensive, but nice enough that it’s hard to know if he’s doing it on purpose.

Eric
AGE

22-35

GENDER

Male

DESCRIPTION

(Open to any ethnicity) Your self-proclaimed ‘gaming nerd’.  He runs a live action board game club and doesn’t tolerate anyone who doesn’t take it seriously.  He can fly off the handlebars when he feels that either he or the ‘Round Table’ is being disrespected.

ADDITIONAL CHARACTERS

Janice (25-30, self-identified female, any ethnicity) An old high school friend of the girls, she used to be Goth but now she’s hot.  She’s got new confidence, a new engagement ring, but you can’t take the Wiccan out of the Witch.

Jocelyn (25-30, self-identified female, any ethnicity) A work friend of Janice’s. She took pity on Janice and came alone on her stagette, but normally would not be caught dead at a club. She’s cool, trendy, laid back and basically, exactly what every 20-something wishes they were. She brunches, does DIY projects and listens to records on rainy fall days, but not in an obnoxious way.

Jenna (25-30, self-identified female, any ethnicity) A friend of Janice’s. She’s a bit of a ditz, and gets caught up in Janice’s strange ways but is mostly just down for a good time as long as it means going out and getting to show off her new Fendi bag..
